NYCEDC and NYU Tandon announce inaugural cohort and new leader for Game Design Future Lab

NYU Tandon and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) announced the first ever business oriented incubator, the Game Design Future Lab (GDFL).
The first cohort of the GDFL program will receive personalized business mentorship based on studio needs, exclusive access to industry and networking events, investor outreach and support, access to NYU facility technologies and office spaces in the hopes of fostering the future generation of game studios that are NYC made.

The first GDFL cohort officially kicked off on October 15, 2025, and remains a full year supported incubator.
"Working alongside the NYU Game Center incubator program, the GDFL will help build an ecosystem for games entrepreneurship at NYU and in New York City," -Mitu Khandaker, an Associate Arts Professor at the NYU Game Center.
